BOOK COVER DESIGN
Its the impression you receive when you first look at a book, the element that sets the mood for what lies between its pages. Marketing managers believe that the cover is in large part responsible for the amount of sales that the title will bring home to the publisheror those sales that are lost.

The photo illustration was created in Photoshop using two of my own photos then the type was laid in and styled.

The four book cover designs in this section are from a group of eight I was commissioned to illustrate and design for the Walker Mystery Series during the 1980s. They are all 2-color. Although now out of print, they are still good examples of simple illustration and design.
